Time-lapse of the Blue-Throated Macaw Pastel Painting

Writers are often told “don’t tell, show”. Why should it be any different for artists? An artist aims to instill life into their artwork, and a great way to help the viewer to connect is for them to see how it was created. This could be photos that you share to Instagram and facebook, or even videos.

I’ve only started to scratch the surface of how to make videos. Buying art gear, setting it up, filming the actual artwork (which can take days in itself)… There is so much to learn in life! And I’m loving it.

My Blue-Throated Macaw pastel painting was a bit of a hit: when I released it the number of views to my website shot up and the feedback I received was so heart warming. Whilst so many people saw the finished product, less saw the making-of video, so of course I am sharing it now.

I really hope to expand upon the Youtube videos down the track. It would be ideal if I could teach others how to create artworks, both large and small. I would also love to collaborate with other Youtuber’s in the art field (or even out of it) to create even more great content.

If you have a subject you would like me to paint please make a comment below and I’ll do my best to make it for you.
